Moss Point homeowners deal with real moisture pressure down here on the Gulf Coast. The humidity alone is enough to cause problems under a house - and when you add in ground moisture, poor drainage, and a crawl space that was never properly sealed, you end up with conditions that can quietly do serious damage over time. Wood rot, mold, and bad air quality don't announce themselves. They just build up until something forces you to deal with it.

This one got the full treatment. We installed a clean vapor barrier liner across the entire floor and up the walls, sealed it tight, and wrapped every pier column. That liner is the foundation of the whole system - it cuts off ground moisture before it ever gets a chance to move into the air inside the crawl space. Without it, everything else you do is working against you.

From there, we put in two sump pumps with drainage to handle any water intrusion, and an AprilAire dehumidifier to actively pull moisture out of the air. The condensate pump ties it all together, keeping everything draining properly without any standing water. It's not just a liner and call it done - it's a complete moisture management system working around the clock.

A dry crawl space does more than protect your floor joists and framing. The air down there moves up into your living space. That's called the stack effect, and it's a big deal. When the crawl space is damp and full of mold spores or musty air, that's what you and your family are breathing. Getting this space sealed and controlled means cleaner air upstairs - full stop.
