Crawlspace Cleanup Day One in Milton FL image

We kicked off a full crawlspace encapsulation job in Milton, and before any of the real work can begin, the space has to be cleared out completely. That means pulling out the old, deteriorated poly sheeting, debris, and whatever else has been collecting under the house - sometimes for years. It's the part nobody posts about, but it matters more than most people realize.

What you're looking at is the result of that first phase - a massive pile of degraded plastic sheeting and debris hauled out from underneath the home. Old vapor barriers break down over time. They trap moisture against the soil, tear apart, and stop doing their job. Leaving that material in place and layering new encapsulation over it would undermine the whole system. So it all comes out first.

A clean crawlspace is a non-negotiable starting point for us. The encapsulation liner we install has to make full contact with clean surfaces to seal properly. Any debris left behind creates gaps, weak points, and potential spots where moisture can still get in. Doing it right means doing the prep work right.

This is day one. The cleanup sets the stage for everything that follows - the liner installation, the sealing along the walls and piers, and the full encapsulation system that will actually protect the home long-term. We'll be following this one through to the finish.
