Most homeowners never think about what's going on under their house - until something goes wrong. Musty smells, soft spots in the floor, higher energy bills, pest problems. A lot of those issues trace right back to an unprotected crawl space. That's exactly the kind of thing we fix.

We just wrapped up a full crawl space encapsulation on a 3,000 sq. ft. home here in Gulfport. The entire floor was covered with a heavy-duty vapor barrier liner, and the walls were wrapped top to bottom as well. Every pier column got wrapped too. The goal is to create a complete envelope that cuts off moisture at the source - before it ever has a chance to work its way into your subfloor or framing.

Here's why that matters. The Gulf Coast is one of the most humid climates in the country. Moisture doesn't just sit there - it moves. It gets absorbed into wood, creates conditions where mold can grow, and slowly causes the kind of structural damage that gets expensive fast. A properly installed vapor barrier and encapsulation system is one of the most practical things you can do to protect the long-term health of your home.

We take the details seriously on every job. That means making sure the liner is sealed around columns, runs tight to the walls, and overlaps correctly at the seams. A sloppy install leaves gaps, and gaps let moisture in. There's no shortcut worth taking on work that's meant to last.

If your crawl space has never been addressed - or if it's been a while since anyone looked - it's worth getting it checked out. Moisture problems don't fix themselves, and catching it early is always cheaper than dealing with the damage later.
