We put in a lot of windshield time last week - over 1,400 miles worth. From Mobile to Pensacola, Gulfport to Brewton, we were under houses all across the Gulf Coast doing what we do best: honest crawlspace assessments. No guesswork, no upselling from a driveway. We actually get under there.

And what we found under there tells the story pretty clearly. Fallen and deteriorating insulation hanging from floor joists. Wood showing dark staining and surface mold growth. Old vapor barriers that have long since stopped doing their job. Pier blocks sitting crooked with debris piled around the base. This is what years of Gulf Coast humidity does to an unprotected crawlspace - and most homeowners have no idea it's happening right beneath their feet.

The good news is that none of this is a death sentence for your home. It just needs to be addressed correctly. Proper encapsulation, insulation replacement, and structural support work together to stop moisture at the source - not just cover it up. That's the difference between a band-aid fix and something that actually holds up long-term.

We're kicking off a new encapsulation in Brewton, Alabama this week, and we've got another lined up in Ocean Springs, Mississippi right after. Both jobs came directly out of assessments we completed on this run. That's how we operate - find the problem, explain it clearly, then fix it the right way.

If you're in coastal Alabama, Mississippi, or the Florida Panhandle and you've never had your crawlspace looked at - or it's been a few years - this is the kind of thing worth knowing about sooner rather than later. The humidity down here is relentless, and crawlspaces take the hit first.
